Polyfox And The Union Of The Most Ghosts discussed at Under The Rostrum

It looks like Shaun Prescott is still trying to figure out the mysteries of Polyfox And The Union Of The Most Ghosts. He’s written a lengthy new article in response to a recent show in Sydney, making specific mention of the influence of video game music.

All the songs are unfinished: they sometimes have elaborate beginnings – not accounting for the gradual layering of textures and melodies – but they’re always aborted whenever French sees fit. Only on one occasion tonight did he clearly round off a song; elsewhere, he’d be at the peak of a song’s technicolour swirl before stamping a pedal and saying something to the effect of ‘that’ll be enough’.
